3. With My Own Two Hands- Poetry/Voice lesson. This is an online lesson, if you have not done it with us in class. The link will direct you to the teacher's site, that gives the entire lesson plan steps, handouts, links and examples. Follow the steps carefully. (Note: Skip the "pre-step: before sharing the song" and start at Step 1.) You can download and print the handouts, or come to class to pick them up. In the end you will need to hand in:
- Pre-writing graphic organizer that you will fill out while listening/watching the 4 youtube videos.
- Rough copy of your poem on looseleaf, with some scratching out, arrows, inserts and other revisions obvious.
- Final copy, neatly handwritten or typed.
- Don't forget a good title.
4. Worksheet: Poetry Analysis. This can be done for a poem or a favourite song. (School appropriate lyrics, please.) Print the poem/lyrics and attach to the Analysis sheet. Be specific in your answers on the Analysis sheet. You may leave out any 2 questions that you want, if you find them difficult. But, you cannot leave out #9. You must do that question.
5. Literacy Power "Who is Singing this Song". We will do this in class but if you are absent, you must come pick it up as there is no electronic version. It provides all instructions, example, and how it will be marked. After answering the questions to the provided poem, you will write your own poem modeled after the one given.
